Program

1st  day

In the afternoon arrival of the guests and accommodation in the hotel. Guided tour of Asciano.  We will start with a walk along Corso Matteotti (the ancient part of Via Lauretana inside the town walls) to discover one of the main monuments of “Il Paese del Garbo” (the town of courtesy, politeness). Crossing the medieval Piazza del Grano we will then arrive at the Palazzo Corboli Museum. Here you can find the many works of art created by the greatest Sienese artists from the 14th to the 16th century: Ambrogio Lorenzetti, the Master of the Observance, Matteo di Giovanni, Rutilio Manetti and precious wooden sculptures such as those of Giovanni Pisano and Francesco di Valdambrino together with a collection of Etruscan finds  coming from the various archaeological complexes in the area. At the end dinner in  restaurant in Asciano (apetizers, first course with meat sauce, main course based on wild boar, beans with olive oil, dessert (fruit salade). Water, Red wine from Montalcino, coffee. Overnight in hotel.

 

2rd day

Breakfast at the hotel. Entrance at the swimming pool of Terme Antica Querciolaia (valid for the whole day). Included in the price. Free lunch and end of our services.

Program

1st  day

In the afternoon arrival of the guests and accommodation in  hotel. The journey to discover this enchanting corner of Tuscany begins with an excursion along the ancient via Lauretana to reach the Site Transitorie, it is a work of art, immersed in the Creti Senesi, located in a silent place, where art and nature intersect, generating an incredible view of the surrounding landscape.

At the end, return to the hotel and dinner that will allow a first discovery of the flavours of the local tradition with a menu that includes apetizers, tomato soap, first course, main course based on beef, roasted potatoes, dessert. Water, Chianti or Vermentino wine, coffee.  Overnight.

2nd day

Breakfast in hotel. In the morning guided tour of Monte Oliveto Maggiore Abbey (8km). The fourteenth-century abbey has dominated the rugged landscape of the Crete Senesi for seven hundred years. Decorated with frescoes by Sodoma and Signorelli, it represents an example of Renaissance painting in the Sienese land. Free lunch.
